New York artist Linda Kuehne explores the cultural implications of the human impact on the natural environment in suburbs across the United States. She is interested in the role that architecture plays in conveying the spirit of a place and the health of a community. She received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. Her work has been exhibited in contemporary art galleries and museums including the Katonah Museum of Art, the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Kean University and A.I.R. Gallery.
The artist's father was an avid photographer and she picked up her first camera when she was 14. For many years Kuehne had a darkroom in her home basement where she printed her own silver gelatin prints. She studied photography, attending classes at SUNY Purchase in Purchase, New York. She received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. Kuehne worked at a major publishing house in New York, later becoming the director of an art center outside of New York City.
